The 2025 edition of the Holy Cross International College sports competition has come to an exciting close, with students expressing their satisfaction at having showcased a variety of skills and talents.

Over the course of four days of intensive sporting activities, students competed in multiple disciplines, including football, handball, basketball, and tennis. This year’s event provided a platform for students not only to demonstrate their athletic abilities but also to foster camaraderie and school spirit.
During the finals that took place on December 11, Citadel FC showcased a commanding performance, defeating Los Logadores 5-1 in the junior handball category. In a more tightly contested match, El Jaguares FC fell 2-1 to Xplicitos FC in the senior handball final, highlighting the competitive spirit of the tournament.
In the football finals, El Jaguares FC narrowly lost to Xplicitos FC in a dramatic penalty shootout, finishing 6-5 in the junior category. Meanwhile, Los Logadores delivered an impressive performance, thrashing Citadel FC 4-0 to clinch victory in the senior football finals, marking a celebrated moment in the school’s athletic history.

Emmanuel Buban Ngu, the proprietor of Holy Cross International College, praised the students’ level of engagement during the games. He emphasized the importance of balancing sports with academics and encouraged students to remain committed to their studies. “The competition has uncovered a wealth of talent that we will nurture in the coming years,” Buban Ngu stated.
“The school is working tirelessly to ensure the football academy, announced a few years back, kicks off to help these children realize their dreams,” he added, underscoring the institution’s commitment to developing young athletes and preaching peace.

Pascal Abunde, Fourth Vice President of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), attended the finals and expressed admiration for the myriad talents on display. He noted that today, sports and education go hand-in-hand, enriching the lives of students. Identifying some standout performers, he pledged to ensure these young athletes receive the guidance they need for further development.
In a gesture of support, Abunde donated football boots and FIFA-standard balls to the school, stating that this is just the beginning of great things to come for the institution’s sports program.
Students received numerous individual and collective prizes, reflecting their hard work and dedication. As they look ahead to the 2026 edition, they remai committed to enhancing their skills and strive to achieve even greater success in the future.
