On February 7, Holy Cross International College (HCIC) Yaounde was filled with excitement as it held its annual Career Orientation Day. The event reminded students that achieving academic success is just one part of living a fulfilling life; the other part is developing personal character and taking steps for self-improvement.

Dr. Julia Buban Ngu, the Mother of the College, led the event with the Vice Principals and representatives from various university Institutes present. Opening the event, Dr. Ngu highlighted the importance of being intentional.
She encouraged students to build good character alongside their education, saying that real success comes from both skills and values. “Invest in yourselves and create your own opportunities,” she advised, urging them to set clear goals and stay focused on their morals.

The event attracted representatives from over ten university institutes, each sharing their unique programs and how they can prepare students for future careers. These talks helped students see the various academic options available to them once they leave HCIC.
The day wasn’t just about listening; it was about demonstration. Students took center stage to showcase the professions they aspire to join. From budding doctors and engineers to future diplomats and artists, the campus was transformed into a vibrant display of the next generation’s ambitions.

The atmosphere was one of renewed purpose. By connecting current studies to future outcomes, HCIC continues to ensure its students are not just moving through school, but moving toward a defined and virtuous future.
