The 2024 Holy Cross International College (HCIC) Proprietors Cup has officially kicked off on December 8th at the school campus. The event was attended by school authorities and a passionate student body.

Launching the tournament, Vice Principal, Felix Nodai expressed gratitude to the sports masters for their meticulous preparation to the build up of the competition.

He urged students to embody the spirit of fair play while showcasing their abilities and talents. Nodai however, stressed the importance of maintaining discipline while experiencing a draw, win or lose, throughout the tournament.
“The basketball match between the International and National sections is scheduled to take place alongside the tennis match,” Nodai stated.

In the opening matches, La Favelas FC emerged victorious in both handball and football, defeating Solteros FC 3-1 in each sport discipline.
A total of eight teams, four each in handball and football, are participating in this year’s competition. The inaugural Proprietors Cup was held in 2014.

This year’s tournament is dedicated to the memory of Peter Ngu Tayong, a beloved leadership coach at HCIC who recently passed away.
