Students of Holy Cross International College who received the sacraments of First Holy Communion, Baptism, and admission into the Catholic Church have been urged to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the Gospel of Love.

This message was delivered on May 4 in Yaounde during the administration of the sacraments by Rev. Father Patrick Tabot, the school chaplain.

Speaking during the liturgy, Rev. Father Tabot expressed his happiness and joy that this was the first celebration of the sacrament of Baptism, the reception of First Holy Communion, and the reception of a child into the Catholic Church at the school. “I am like a mother giving birth to her first child,” he said.

He added, “My message is that the newly baptized should carry the faith to the ends of the world. They are like the apostles who, after the resurrection, went out to spread the Gospel, the message of joy.”

He called on the parents and guardians to guide and uphold the children’s faith. “During the liturgy celebration, I asked them to hold the faith and to know how these children are progressing. You are standing behind the child with a responsibility and obligation,” he said.
